Our programs:
Bridging Musical Worlds (JAN) -
a collaborative effort with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra
celebrating the life of Rev Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Celebrating Black History Through Music
(FEB) - Director Tyrone Jefferson and selected
musicians visit public and private school students to present a
historical perspective of the music industry's creative and
business side .
The Annual Black History Concert (MAR)
- purposefully presented in March of each year to
emphasize the need to focus on Black History at times other than
February. This is our main fund raising event.
Family Walk and Health Fair (SEPT)
- At the end of a 1-mile walk, musicians and
supporters get their blood pressure and blood sugar checked;
have an opportunity to get tested for Aids and receive
information about nutrition, exercise and meditation.
Giving Thanks Concert (NOV)
- Jazz Vespers at a local church. The 2009 concert was
held at St. Paul Baptist Church.
Kwanzaa (DEC) - A
celebration of the Nguzo Saba (The Seven Principles of Kwanzaa)
in collaboration with other community organizations.
