Annual Black History Production

The theme for our 18th Annual Black History Concert is: The Blues and R&B Love Ballads with Strings – The Story Of A People.
There will be TWO Shows (a 3 p.m. Matinee concert and a 7 p.m. Evening concert) on Saturday March 17th 2017 at Pease Auditorium on the downtown Central Campus of Central Piedmont Community College – located at 1201 Elizabeth Ave, Charlotte, NC 28204.  Ticket on sale January 2018.

$20 for Seniors (60+), $25 for Adults and $15 for Youth (17-).  

The theme for the ‘A Sign Of The Times of the Carolinas’ 17th annual Black History Concert was: A TREE WITHOUT ROOTS – based on the following quote “… a people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.”  by Marcus Mosiah Garvey … and featured the world renown African American Dance Ensemble (AADE) founded by Dr. Chuck Davis.

Please note that all tickets have an additional surcharge imposed by the Central Piedmont Community College Box Office.   

All ‘A Sign Of The Times’ community-based programs include components that specifically explore the history, commonalities and challenges of Black and Brown people in America.
